The HICOOL Global Entrepreneur Summit and Entrepreneurship Competition was held in Beijing on September 12. The Founder and Chairman of the Board of Sias University, Dr. Shawn Chen, who is also the co-founder and Executive Director of Plug and Play China, was invited to serve as a judge and featured speaker at the event.

During the event, the Party Secretary of the Beijing Municipal Government, Cai Qi, visited the exhibition and met with representatives and guests, and congratulated the winning individuals and teams. In a meeting with Dr. Chen, Party Secretary Cai Qi spoke highly of Plug and Play and praised their international cross-border projects. He said that a new era of scientific, technological, and industrial transformation was going on in the world. He said that the Coronavirus pandemic had given birth to a number of new industries, new businesses, new models, and new demands, providing room and a stage for innovation and entrepreneurship. He encouraged those present to build a first-class international talent community in Beijing, and create a continually improving talent pool for innovation and entrepreneurship for the development of Beijing.

Dr. Shawn Chen was a featured speaker at the event along with the Founder, Chairman and CEO of Xiaomi, Lei Jun, the Founder & CEO of Meituan, Wang Xing, the Founder and CEO of Hillhouse Capital, Zhang Lei, the Chairman & CEO of Sinovation Ventures, Dr. Kai-Fu Lee, and the Chairman of iFLYTEK, Liu Qingfeng. Dr. Chen led a dialogue with the Director of Invest Sweden, Zhu Bin, on the impact of technology development on investment trends, the exchange of overseas and domestic investment, and the impact of overseas investment on overseas talent.

The HICOOL Global Entrepreneur Summit and Entrepreneurship Competition is organized by the Beijing Overseas Talents Association and is the only comprehensive international entrepreneurship talent competition with China as the center. The HICOOL summit and competition invites top investors, well-known mentors, and leading entrepreneurs to provide a comprehensive entrepreneurship coaching and training, devising a multi-dimensional international entrepreneurship model.
