Sias University held the opening ceremony of its 11th Internet Culture Festival & Cyber Security Promotion Month in the Italian Square on campus. The festival and promotional activities are held to increase internet security awareness among teachers and students. This involves the sharing of cyber security knowledge, the improvement of cyber security skills, and the creation of a healthy online/cyberculture on campus. Sias Party Secretary, Ma Jiansheng, Deputy Party Secretary, Li Huafeng, and Vice President, Zhao Yuxin, attended the opening ceremony. Over 300 members of the IT department, teachers, and students were at the ceremony.

At the opening ceremony, Zhao Yuxin read out the program and schedule of events for the 11th Internet Culture Festival & Cyber Security Promotion Month.

Ma Jiansheng pointed out the importance of the right use of the internet so that the majority of young people would have a correct concept of the internet and use it to improve their literacy, knowledge, and abilities while using the internet safely. He said that the use of the internet had been a concern and cause for research, particularly with regard to ideological and political education in colleges and universities and their environment. He said that cyber security involved a wide range of coordinated work. All department, he continued, should integrate their resources, take the right measures and treat cyber security and internet culture with an increased sense of responsibility. He put forward 4 suggestions for the 11th Internet Culture Festival & Cyber Security Promotion Month:

- First, importance must be given to the organizational leadership;

- Second, the theme of the month and activities should lead to increased information and education;

- Third, a long-term mechanism should be implemented for cyber security;

- Fourth, pragmatic and efficient efforts must be taken so that staff, teachers, and students abide by the regulations for the prevention and control of the Coronavirus pandemic.

The 11th Internet Culture Festival & Cyber Security Promotion Month, which will include the 7th Cyber Security Publicity Week and its related activities, will be held from the 18th of September to the 18th of October. Several special activities and events were set up for the month, including 'Cyber Security Course for University Students & Teachers', the organization and participation of students in the National Cyber Security Knowledge Competition, training sessions for network information security, the implementation of cyber security responsibility, the evaluation of secondary website at the university, the inspection of cyber security protection, and an exhibition for excellent internet cultural achievements and projects.
