On August 12, Sias University held a seminar on promoting reform in leadership in universities. Sias Party Secretary, Ma Jiansheng, Executive President, Wang Jialin, Deputy Party Secretary, Li Huafeng, Vice President, Zhao Yuxin, Vice President, Xu Shengdao, and Vice President, Wu Hua, attended the meeting. The heads of the Administration Office, and the Sias Party Committee also attended the meeting.

Ma Jiansheng put forward 3 suggestions on how to promote reform for management and development:

- First, ideology and beliefs were important with regard to Party discipline;

- Second, cases should be analyzed and self-evaluation should be encouraged; risks with regard to jobs and corruption were to be minimized through long-term mechanisms that encouraged staff to not want to be corrupt and promote clean governance;

- Third, the reasoned analysis should be thorough, and measures for rectification should be promoted for the healthy development of the university's education.

Wang Jialin shared 3 thoughts on particular cases that served as warnings:

- First, personal experience should guide staff to have no selfish desires;

- Second, we should genuinely refuse to be changed or corrupted;

- Third, we should set a good example at all times and remain politically determined.

Based on the study of typical cases and educational warning films, combined with his practical work, Li Huafeng put forward 3 points to enhance the supervision and restriction of power, deepen the governance of the Party, and purify the political ecology of the university:

- First, it is necessary to deepen reform through case studies and the strict and comprehensive administration of the Party;

- Second, we should adhere to analyze the common problems reflected in typical cases;

- Third, we should enhance the actual effect of work.

Zhao Yuxin put forward certain suggestions based on his experience and work and said that the leadership and staff should be willing to contribute without succumbing to greed and corruption. He encouraged self-restraint, the seeking of truth, and action and results-based practicality.

Xu Shengdao shared his insights as well and said that the nurturing of a patriotic spirit was necessary for the building of a strong ideological line of defense. He also said that the leadership at Sias should carry out their responsibilities, monitor departments, and education, encourage clean and honest governance, and promote the sound and rapid development of all undertakings of the university.

Based on case studies, Wu Hua proposed that the leadership should introspect, remain upright even without support, and work hard towards having a clear mind.

In his summary, Ma Jiansheng stressed on the importance and necessity of reform. He said that the entire university should work together to reform education, deal with problems, analyze loopholes, establish rules and regulations, promote the normalization and institutionalization of reform, and make sure that everything implemented is detailed and practical.
