Sias University's 2020 Student Work Conference concluded on August 19. Sias Deputy Party Secretary, Li Huafeng, and Vice President, Xu Shengdao, attended the meeting. Leaders of the Sias Communist Party Committee, Student Affairs Office, the General Office of the Residential Colleges, as well as the leaders of the Party Committees of each residential college and the administrators of various departments attended the meeting.

On the afternoon of the 18th of August, the Director of the Student Affairs Department at Xinyang University, Yu Tingting, delivered a speech. She spoke of her thoughts and understanding of her participation in the counselor quality and ability competition. She said that the competition showed her the importance of preparation, growth, and a platform. She had earlier inspected the residential colleges at Sias and said that she hoped that Sias and Xinyang University would engage in exchanges and mutually beneficial progress.

On the 19th of August, Huo Xiaowei from the Information Technology Management Center conducted a special training session on the basic information of school informatization, personal network information security, and digital orientation systems.

During the training session, case sharing sessions were held across the various residential colleges based on topics such as the postgraduate entrance examination, CET-4 and CET-6 examinations, employment and entrepreneurship, student cadre training, psychological problems, student funding, and apartment management. There was an active exchange of ideas with participants learning from each other’s strengths and weaknesses.

In the evening, Sias held an awarding ceremony for the 2020 Student Work Conference for academic staff. In his closing speech, Xu Shengdao pointed out the effectiveness of the training session. He said that it encouraged a focus on work, an improvement in morale, and a broadening of thought. He stressed on the responsibility of the staff with regard to students. He said that the mission of educating students for the nation and the Communist Party required unremitting efforts, innovation, and contributions to the establishment of high-level international application-oriented private colleges and universities.

Li Huafeng and Xu Shengdao presented awards to the residential colleges, educational tutors, and apartment administrators who performed well in the 5th Counselor Quality & Ability Competition, and for contributions to student funding, student medical insurance, student archives, student psychology, and apartment service management in the 2019/20 academic year. During the 3-day conference, a clear understanding of the work for students during the 2020/21 academic year was successfully outlined.
