Sias University held a Summer & Autumn Pandemic Prevention Meeting on July 27 to effectively address the prevention and control of the Coronavirus pandemic during the summer break and the first semester of the 2020/21 academic year in the autumn. Sias Vice President, and Chairman of the Trade Union, Wu Hua, presided over the meeting which was attended by liaison officers from Sias' Prevention & Control Working Group.

At the meeting, Wu Hua spoke about the situation of the pandemic in China. He said that all teachers and students should not lack awareness of the situation. He put forward 4 points:

- First, staff needed to summarize their experiences of online teaching in the past semester and formulate plans for the improvement of both online and offline teaching in the new semester;

- Second, the management of teachers and students during the summer needed to be efficient. People needed to be diligent with personal protection, and thorough in their prevention and control measures at their homes;

- Third, security measures across the campus needed to be efficient during the summer vacation;

- Fourth, each class was to formulate plans for the first semester (autumn) in accordance with the situation on the ground at Sias.

Wu Hua said that all the heads of the departments were to pay close attention to the requirements in the notices with regard to the prevention and control of the pandemic, and actively plan and implement work plans to ensure a smooth beginning to the upcoming academic year.

After this, the heads of the prevention and control working groups presented reports on their work and put forward suggestions on how to improve various aspects of the next stage of each group's work.
