The Mayor of the Municipal Government of Puyang, Yang Qingjiu, visited Sias University on July 29, along with the Vice Mayor, Sun Yongzhen; Secretary-General, Xie Chuanfang; Deputy Secretary-General, Ge Lei; Director of the Bureau of Education, Du Guolin; Director of the Bureau of Natural Resources & Planning, Qiao Xiaoyu; and the Director of Hualong District Government, Gao Shanggong.

Sias leaders accompanied the delegation on a campus tour through the Sias Cultural Towns such as the French Street, Italian Square, German Street, Spanish Square, and London Street. They also visited teaching facilities and students' living quarters, such as the School of Foreign Languages, Library, and Huanyu Residential College.

After the campus tour, a forum was held with the delegation in the Sias Library. The Founder and Chairman of the Board of Sias, Dr. Shawn Chen, Vice President, Wu Hua, the Secretary-General of the Sias Council, Wang Wei, the Director of the Administration Office, Qin Nan, and the Director of the Human Resources Department, Sun Minghao, attended the meeting. The President of the Puyang Alumni Association, Wang Chunli, also attended the meeting.

After the delegation was shown the official Sias promotional video, Dr. Chen welcomed them and spoke about the history, scale, educational philosophy, scientific research, academic course creation, awards, and achievements of Sias. He also spoke about the organizational structure of the Communist Party at Sias, the Trade Union, and the Communist Youth League. He spoke about Sias' combination of a liberal education, holistic education, and integrated education, the emphasis on industry-university cooperation and collaborative education, the residential college system, and the advantages of being an internationalized university.

Yang Qingjiu expressed his gratitude for the warm reception and spoke of his appreciation of Sias' educational philosophy combining Chinese and Western education in an international environment. He spoke about Puyang in detail, said that he hoped that through exchanges and cooperation, Puyang could make up for its relatively weak situation with regard to higher education by enhancing the competitiveness of existing vocational colleges, providing more high-quality educational resources, developing multi-directional and distinctive local education, and nurture more outstanding graduates.

Sun Yongzhen spoke about Puyang's economic development and educational resources and said that he hoped to learn from the experience and practice of Sias University for the introduction of high-quality education resources in Puyang. He also spoke about cooperation in the field of education, professional development projects, and the possibility of cooperative development for the nurturing of talent.

The two sides concluded the meeting with in-depth exchanges on industry-university research cooperation and the establishment of private educational institutions.
