According to a notice issued by the Henan Department of Education, Sias University organized an activity titled, "The First Lesson of Returning to School" for the first batch of returning students on May 31.

In the morning, Sias organized the watching of an online video from the Henan Department of Education through a learning management platform which included 5 aspects of micro-class videos - political guidance, scientific popularization, protection explanations, rule of law education, and psychological counseling. Students watched videos on the return to the university delivered by leaders, teachers, and student representatives of Sias. Videos mainly focused on the Covid-19 pandemic and the situation in China, Henan, and in universities, as well as the specific prevention and control measures, student management, and teaching arrangements for the reopening of the university.

After the online lessons, Sias also organized the watching of a special online lecture themed, "Controlling the Source of Infection and Cutting Off Transmission". All residential colleges at Sias carried out practical exercises for their communities with themes including epidemic prevention and control knowledge, implementation measures, and the improvement of awareness. Class meetings and educational activities were encouraged for sharing epidemic control operations, mental health education, and patriotism. As part of the activities, the Dean or the Party Secretary of each residential college will lead students in the singing of patriotic songs.

The activity and lesson aim to educate students about epidemic prevention and control processes and regulations and provide them with a guide so they can learn independently as well. A focus on safety and physical and mental health was encouraged among teachers and students. Sias leaders also encouraged students to enhance their sense of responsibility, improve their knowledge-based skills, to build confidence in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.
