Sias University's Kansas International Institute (KII) held an online summer camp for students in preparation for their American courses in the upcoming academic year. The summer camp was planned and implemented by Sias' partner school, Fort Hays State University, in Kansas, USA. The Founder and Chairman of the Board of Sias, Dr. Shawn Chen, the President of Fort Hays State University (FHSU), Dr. Tisa Mason, and student representatives from FHSU participated in the online summer camp. The event was hosted by the Assistant Vice President for Global Partnerships, Cindy Elliott.

The event was held on the Zoom software platform. Dr. Chen gave an introductory speech in which he said that he hoped that the students would adapt to the change in learning platforms and actively participate in online learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. He also spoke of several English learning methods and encouraged students to preview their courseware for the coming semester, take notes, and listen and learn more about language and culture. Dr. Mason spoke about the student activity center under construction at Fort Hays State University and said that she hoped that students would learn something from the event. The Vice Dean of the Kansas International Institute, Wang Huan, expressed his thanks to the staff for their efforts and wished the event a complete success.

The Summer Camp coordinator, Haley Williams, answered questions about the history of Fort Hays State University (FHSU), and the cooperation between FHSU and Sias, so that students would have a clear understanding of the dual degree program and campus of FHSU. After this, students took part in group discussions about their majors and preparations for the introductions to their courses.

The online summer is scheduled for 4 days. On each day, a separate module is presented through video recordings, live broadcasts, and speeches. Modules involve different aspects such as majors, language, and culture. Teachers from Fort Hays State University's International Affairs Department, teachers in charge of various majors, as well as exchange students, graduate students, and alumni, are scheduled to participate in the camp.

The Summer Camp is being held online for the first time. Through live interactions, students can learn about the dual degree program, make new friends, and have a more detailed understanding of the American courses they are about to take in the coming semester.
