Sias University held its 2020 Admissions and Enrollment Conference in the Administration Building on April 23. The Founder and Chairman of the Board of Sias, Dr. Shawn Chen; Party Secretary, Ma Jiansheng; Executive President, Wang Jialin; Deputy Party Secretary, Li Huafeng; Vice Presidents, Zhao Yuxin, Xu Shengdao, and Wu Hua; Prof. Guo Junfeng; and all university leaders as well as the heads of Communist Party offices, academic schools, residential colleges, and the Admissions and Enrollment Office. Vice President Xu Shengdao chaired the meeting.

At the meeting, the Director of the Admissions Office, Zhu Hongqiang, presented a detailed report on the implementation of the plans for enrollment work in 2020. He presented 4 major aspects of enrollment - the overall situation of enrollment work in 2020, the change of the enrollment content, the publicity of enrollment, and the detailed rules of enrollment. He spoke of the focus on the 4 new undergraduate majors, sports, art & design, preschool education, artificial intelligence, and environmental design. He also spoke of the specialties of dance performance and music performance in cooperation with the University of Arizona in the USA.

Vice President Xu Shengdao pointed out that because of the Covid-19 pandemic, Sias' enrollment should make use of social media platforms, innovative working methods, have detailed plans and goals, and have a clear division of labor and responsibilities. He also encouraged the mobilization of teachers for publicity for the university.

The Dean of the School of Electronics & Information Engineering, Shen Yang, and the Deputy Party Secretary of the Siqi Residential College, Niu Zhige, presented reports on the progress of enrollment work and put forward opinions and suggestions. The Vice President of the School of Continuing Education, Du Yifei, spoke about the "2+2" international undergraduate program as well as other enrollment projects.

Dr. Shawn Chen then delivered the closing speech. He said that as the college entrance examination and admission deadlines were postponed this year, he hoped that everyone would work hard to counter the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic and turn challenges into opportunities. He encouraged the use of work plans, innovative methods, and timely feedback. He said that enrollment publicity should combine online and offline platforms with an understanding of potential students and enrollment policies. He said that there should be a focus on Sias' new projects, incentives, and supervision of the enrollment process.
