On May 11, Member of the Standing Committee of the Xinzheng Municipal Committee and Political Commissar in the People's Liberation Army (PLA), Zheng Yanqing, and the Head of the 6th Division of the Covid-19 Prevention Team in Xinzheng, Geng Yang, visited Sias University to inspect the preparations for the reopening of the university. Sias Executive President, Wang Jialin, met with the delegation and accompanied them for the inspection.

Accompanied by his delegation, Zheng Yanqing visited Sias' East Gate, apartments, Russian Square cafeteria, and Huanyu Residential College, among other places, to inspect the preparations and work for the reopening of the university. During the inspection, he inquired into the plans for the return of Sias' faculty and students, and the management of foreign teachers and international students. He also asked about the health of the staff in cafeterias and the cleanliness and safety of the campus. Sias leaders presented comprehensive reports about all the topics in question.

Zheng Yanqing said that the preparatory work was both organized and effective. He said that he hoped that Sias would continue to focus on the importance of the prevention and control of the Covid-19 pandemic, with a special focus on the return of students to the university. He said that on the day the students return, strict supervision and management of proceedings should be carried out, with a careful arrangement of students based on their information and physical health without omission.
