The annual ceremony and formal dinner for the transition of Sias University's Student Assistant Group was held in the Banquet Hall of the Library on December 26. Sias Party Secretary, Ma Jiansheng, Executive President, Wang Jialin, Deputy Party Secretary, Li Huafeng, and Vice Presidents, Zhao Yuxin, Xu Shengdao, and Wu Hua, attended the ceremony. The heads of all departments, academic schools, and residential colleges were also present at the ceremony.

After the red carpet entry ceremony, the leaders thanked the student assistants for their support for the university's work throughout the past year and wished them for the New Year. The student assistants also expressed their determination to "never forget their original intention and forge ahead" as their vision for the new year.

At the ceremony, Wang Jialin delivered a speech and pointed out that the participation of students in the functioning of the university's management was a unique characteristic of Sias that had been established since its founding. He said that it helped students improve, get practical experience, and build a bridge between university leaders, departments, and students. He put forward three suggestions: First, that students should nurture an attitude of lifelong learning, and study hard; Second, that they should learn from their experiences, and pass on their energy to the next batch of student assistants; Third, they should seize all opportunities, strive to innovate, and put forward suggestions for the development of the university. He said that Sias would continue to optimize the educational environment, reform its teaching, encourage students to grow, promote the integration of student development and university development through information management and campus culture, and give student assistants the opportunity to make a difference in their jobs.

Later, Ma Jiansheng announced the decisions for the Commendation of the 14th Excellent Student Assistants for university leaders and the decisions for the appointment of the 15th Student Assistants for the Office of the President of the University. Wang Jialin announced the decisions for the appointment of the 15th University Leaders' Student Assistants. The Director of the Administration Office, Qin Nan, announced the decisions for the Commendation of the Excellent Student Administrative Assistants for the 2018-2019 academic year, and the decisions for the appointment of the 16th Student Administrative Assistants. The university leaders awarded Certificates of Merit, and Letters of Appointment to the student assistants.
