The Founder, and Chairman of the Board of Sias University, Dr. Shawn Chen, attended the 34th Association of Universities of Asia & the Pacific (AUAP) Annual Conference and the 45th Executive Board Meeting, from November 10 to 12 at Naresuan University in Thailand, and the University Mobility in Asia & the Pacific (UMAP) Board Member Meeting in Bangkok on November 13 and 14. Dr. Chen also visited the Panyapiwat Institute of Management. Dr. Chen was accompanied by the Director of the Office of International Affairs, Yue Junliang.

From November 10 to 11, Dr. Chen was at Naresuan University to attend the Annual Conference and the Board Meeting of the Association of Universities of Asia & the Pacific (AUAP). The President of the AUAP, Prof. Mahmoud Nili Ahmadabadi, from the University of Tehran (Iran), spoke of the Technology Transfer Center Project of the AUAP for the incubation and transfer of science & technology projects. It was also decided that Sias University would host the AUAP Inter-University Basketball Tournament in November 2020. Dr. Chen was also elected to continue to serve as a Board Member for the AUAP.

In response to an invitation by the Vice Chairman of the Charoen Pokphand Group, Korsak Chairasmisak, Dr. Shawn Chen visited the Panyapiwat Institute of Management on the 12th of November. Mr. Korsak Chairasmisak spoke of his appreciation of the achievements in cooperation between faculty and students of Sias University and Panyapiwat Institute of Management. He thanked Dr. Chen for his support for the international development of the Panyapiwat Institute of Management and the exchanges between China and Thailand. During a high-level meeting, Dr. Chen spoke about the possibility of the establishment of a Sias Thailand campus as the next stage of deepening cooperation in undergraduate education between China and Thailand. He said that he was looking forward to this cooperation project. Since 2017, over 40 students from Panyapiwat Institute of Management have visited Sias University for exchanges, and over 20 teachers and students from Sias visited Panyapiwat Institute of Management.

On November 13 and 14, Dr. Shawn Chen attended the Board Member Meeting of the University Mobility in Asia & the Pacific (UMAP) in Bangkok. At a reception hosted by the Ministry of Education and Science & Technology of Thailand, Dr. Chen spoke about the history and development of Sias University and invited member universities to participate in the 2021 Discovery Trip Summer Camp to be held at Sias.

Through Dr. Chen's visit to Thailand, Sias University has increased its publicity through international cooperation platforms to introduce more international education resources to Sias for the benefit of its teachers and students.
