Sias University held a Student-Teacher Forum on November 4 to give students and teachers a platform for face-to-face exchanges. The Founder, and Chairman of the Board of Sias, Dr. Shawn Chen, was present along with Party Secretary, Ma Jiansheng, Executive President, Wang Jialin, Deputy Party Secretary, Li Huafeng, Vice President, Wu Hua, Vice President, Xu Shengdao, and Prof. Guo Junfeng. All the heads of departments, academic schools, and residential colleges at Sias were also present. Over 1,000 students and teachers attended the forum.

Dr. Chen said that every year Sias organized a Student-Teacher forum for open exchanges between students, teachers, and administrators. It was a tradition at Sias to have an open and democratic functioning of the university as it encouraged students to participate in the management and development of the university through their suggestions. He said that Sias was student-focused and hoped that the leadership would be able to solve all the difficulties that students faced with regard to their academics and life.

At the open forum, students of different grades and majors put forward their doubts and suggestions with regard to the teaching, curriculum, learning and living environment, resources, campus safety, and collaborative education between academic schools and residential colleges. The leadership and heads of departments patiently answered all the students' questions and proposed solutions to all the problems. The purpose of the open communication with students was to improve the management of Sias as well as the optimization of resources, create channels for feedback, and improve the campus, to create an improved learning and living environment at Sias. The forum also incorporated feedback from the official Sias microblog and online questionnaires to provide students with a wider platform.

In his concluding speech, Dr. Chen expressed his gratitude to the students for their opinions and suggestions. He said that the open forum between students and teachers was vital and encouraged students to participate in the management of the university to contribute to the improvement and development of Sias. He encouraged the leaders and heads of departments to listen to the students and solve their problems while providing them with broader platforms and improved resources.
