The 35th Teachers' Day of Henan was celebrated as a part of the celebrations for the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China in Zhengzhou. The Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Wang Guosheng, and the Governor of Henan, Chen Run'er, met with the winners of outstanding teacher awards. The Deputy Party Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Yu Hongqiu, Vice Governor of Henan, Huo Jinhua, and other leaders of the Provincial Party Committee's leading group on education attended and delivered speeches. The Founder and Chairman of the Board of Sias, Dr. Shawn Chen, was invited to attend the function because of his outstanding contributions to education in Henan.

On behalf of the Provincial Party Committee, the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Congress, the Provincial Government, and the Provincial Political Consultative Conference, Wang Guosheng extended greetings to teachers and educators throughout the province and congratulated the individuals who were to be presented awards.

Wang Guosheng said that teachers were the engineers of the human soul and shaped people's lives. She said that she hoped that teachers and educators would carry out the directives of Xi Jinping and educate and guide students to reach lofty goals, build self-confidence, and be patriotic. She said that Party Committees and governments at all levels should prioritize education as a part of strategic development, and implement various educational policies and measures to improve the treatment of teachers with regard to their health, their rights, and interests, to ensure their dedication towards education and their overall sense of achievement and happiness.

Yu Hongqiu pointed out that education was necessary for the Central Plains of China to excel as a part of Xi Jinping's socialist ideology with Chinese characteristics in the new era, and is vitally important for the Chinese nation. She said that teachers needed to earn the respect of their students by setting a good example, both in word and deed. She said that innovative development in education would improve the quality and nurture talent. She added that everyone present should devote themselves to education for the sake of Henan's social and economic development, thereby increasing the financial investment and improvement of public resources for the people.

After the speeches, awards were presented to those who had made outstanding contributions to Henan in the field of education.

The awards ceremony for outstanding contributions to education in Henan was held on the evening of the 7th of September. The awards ceremony was organized by the Propaganda Department of the Henan Provincial Party Committee, the Work Committee of the Henan Provincial Party Committee, the Henan Education Department, Henan Daily Newspaper Group, Henan Radio and TV Station. It was hosted by the satellite channel of Henan Radio and TV Station, the Educational Times of Henan, and the Henan Education Development Foundation. The Founder and Chairman of the Board of Sias, Dr. Shawn Chen, was presented an award for his outstanding contributions to education in Henan and was invited to take part in the Henan Teachers' Oath as a guest of honor.

During the event, Dr. Shawn Chen and Prof. Wang Liqun of Henan University conducted in-depth discussions on topics such as the development of higher education, and the internationalization of Chinese culture.
