Cheerleaders take part in Opening Ceremony of FIBA World Cup

Members of the Sias Cheerleading team took part in the Opening Ceremony of the 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup in Beijing, on August 30.


Sias cheerleaders have maintained the highest standard of cheerleading and a direct result of the long-term development of cheerleading at the university has been the invitation to participate in the opening ceremony of the 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup to showcase the contemporary Chinese cheerleading style to the world.


The tournament, which is the 18th Basketball World Cup will be held across China in Beijing, Guangzhou, Nanjing, Shanghai, Wuhan, Shenzhen, and Foshan, from August 31 to September 15. The number of teams participating in the basketball World Cup was increased from 24 to 32 for the 2019 tournament in China.
