School of Music & Opera holds China 70th Anniversary Concert

Sias University's School of Music & Opera held a special celebratory concert for the 70th Anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, and the 20th Anniversary of the founding of Sias, on April 10. Sias Party Secretary, Ma Jiansheng, Sias President, Chen Sikun, Deputy Party Secretary, Li Huafeng, and Vice President, Wu Hua, attended the concert along with members of the Communist Party Office, local government leaders, teachers, and students from the School of Music & Opera.

The concert began with a performance by American vocal and operateacher, Suzanne Scherr Steger. This was followed by a traditional folk song by Li Ling. The whole concert included 17 vocal performances and incorporated different styles of music and performance. The concert ended with a quartet performance of "Heart" and "My Motherland and I". All the teachers from the School of Music & Opera were involved in the patriotic songs that were performed.
