A 13-member delegation from the School of Physical Education at Zhengzhou University, including the Party Secretary, Zhang Shaotong, and the Dean, Yang Guoan, visited Sias University on April 22. Sias Party Secretary, Ma Jiansheng, and Sias President, Chen Sikun, held talks with the delegation and accompanied them on a campus tour.

The delegation had a meeting with the Sias leadership, including Ma Jiansheng, Chen Sikun, Vice President Wu Hua, and the leaders of the Administration Office, Communist Party Office, Academic Affairs Office, Human Resources Department, and Financial Assets Department. The meeting was chaired by Wu Hua.

The delegation was first shown Sias' official promotional video, following which Ma Jiansheng welcomed them and thanked them for the support provided to Sias University. He said that in the past 20 years, Sias had achieved rapid and consistent development, particularly in 3 areas: internationalization and international exchanges; the nurturing of talent through a student-centered curriculum and the residential academy system; adherence to the guidelines and policies of the Communist Party, especially with regard to political ideology and education. He also invited Zhang Shaotong and Yang Guoan to attend Sias' 20th anniversary celebrations in May.

At the meeting, Chen Sikun spoke of his appreciation of the relationship between Sias University and Zhengzhou University's School of Physical Education with regard to exchanges and mutual progress. He said that both institutions had benefited from the support of the Henan government as well as Zhengzhou University's educational resources. He spoke about the history, development, educational philosophy, and internationalization of Sias, specifically the School of Physical Education. He also spoke of the work of the Party, the teaching management, campus culture, logistics, and educational resources at Sias. He said that over the course of the past 20 years, Sias had adhered to the government's educational policy while developing its own East-meets-West philosophy by integrating knowledge with practice. He said that he hoped that in the future, Sias would continue to pursue a holistic education for its students while providing opportunities for exchanges and internships in the rapidly developing region in and around Zhengzhou. He hoped that the two universities' schools of physical education would cooperate and share resources for mutual development.

Zhao Shaotong spoke of the development and inner workings of Zhengzhou University's School of Physical Education. He said that he hoped that exchanges between the two institutions would increase for the benefit of the region.
