He said that since this year involved Sias' transformation to a private undergraduate university, enrollment was both an opportunity and a challenge. He said that careful planning and work needed to be carried out to succeed at this task.

Dr. Chen spoke about the need for mobilization. He said that he hoped that all departments at Sias would take this meeting as a starting point to sort out their enrollment plans, clarify their responsibilities, and focus on Sias' social reputation in light of the upcoming 20th anniversary celebrations. He said that the importance of the enrollment of students in 2019 should be reflected in all aspects of departmental work.

The Director of the Admissions Office, Zhao Yujie, spoke about the enrollment work already being carried out for the coming academic year. She said that the use of social media across a variety of platforms was an important aspect of this work. The Dean of the School of Physical Education, He Zuxin, shared his experiences with regard to the enrollment of students at the School of Physical Education and listed effective measures to increase the effectiveness of the work being carried out. The heads of various departments also put forward suggestions with regard to recruitment, enrollment, and publicity for Sias.

Chen Sikun put forward 3 suggestions:

- The enrollment work should focus on both quantity and quality. With the transformation of higher education across China, the number of students has increased year by year. The support and service provided to improve the quality of the university were key to enrollment work.

- Policies with regard to sustainable development were to be studied in depth. Social responsibility, credibility, and influence would affect enrollment.

- Unity and communication across departments would aid in enrollment.

Dr. Chen emphasized that successful enrollment also depended on the cooperation of teachers and students. Communication between staff, he said, was very important, as was feedback from various departments with regard to the policies and needs for enrollment work.
