An itinerant exhibition of the 7th National Collegiate (University and Middle School) Marine Culture Design Contest, sponsored by Sias' School of Art & Design, was held at Sias University on March 25.

Chief guests at the exhibition included the Founder of the National University and Middle School Marine Culture Design Contest, and Director of the Marine Culture Creative Development Center at the Ocean University of China, Prof. Wu Chunhui; former Vice Dean of Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts, Prof. Li Bingxun; Master Tutor at Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts, Prof. Wang Yafei; the Dean of the School of Art & Design at the Zhongyuan Institute of Technology, Prof. Ling Shiyi; the Dean of the School of Art & Design at Beibu Gulf University, Prof. Zhou Xiaofeng; the Director of the Department of Visual Communication at the School of Fine Arts in Zhengzhou University, Prof. Wang Xiaoyu; and the Dean of the School of Art & Design at the Henan University of Animal Husbandry and Economy, Prof. Zhang Peng. Sias University was represented by the Founder and Chairman of the Board, Dr. Shawn Chen, and Executive President, Wang Jialin.

Dr. Chen delivered the opening speech and welcomed the guests to Sias. He thanked the Organizing Committee for providing the opportunity for teachers and students to learn about the subject matter. He also encouraged Sias students to take part in this year's contest. Wang Jialin awarded honorary letters of appointment to the visiting professors. The leaders and guests then cut the ribbon to open the exhibition.

After the opening ceremony, the guests, leaders, teachers, and students from the School of Art & Design went to the exhibition hall on the first floor of the Sias Library, where the exhibition was held.

On the opening day of the exhibition, several guests delivered lectures. Prof. Wu Chunhui delivered a lecture titled "Creative Blue Dream" and spoke about the significance of this touring exhibition. He also spoke in depth about the National Collegiate Marine Culture Design Contest. Prof. Wang Yafei spoke about the importance of ecological and environmental protection in the design field in his lecture "Redesigning in an Environment of Green Attitudes". In his lecture "The Supreme Goodness and Beauty of Design", Prof. Li Bingxun proposed that designers should consider the practical value, aesthetic value, and ethical value of their designs. He also advised students and teachers with regard to achieving good faith through their designs.

The award-winning tour of the 7th National Collegiate Marine Culture Design Contest was designed to expose society to the marine sciences and enhance awareness about the ocean. It also forms a part of China's Belt & Road Initiative, with regard to development and an understanding of the oceans.
