A delegation from the Henan Federation of Trade Unions, headed by its Vice President, Mei Xianbin, visited Sias University on March 5. The delegation included the Chairman of the Culture & Sports Trade Union from Henan's Department of Education, Fu Mingxuan, and the Vice-Chairman, Wang Xuequan. The delegation held a meeting with the Sias leadership that included the Founder and Chairman of the Board, Dr. Shawn Chen, Party Secretary, Ma Jiansheng, Deputy Party Secretary, Li Huafeng, and Sias Vice President, Wu Hua.

Ma Jiansheng thanked the Federation for its support to the Sias Trade Union. He said that the Sias Trade Union had made positive contributions to the development of the university through its work with, and for, the staff at Sias.

After welcoming the delegation, Dr. Chen introduced them to training undertaken at Sias and said that since Sias became a fully-independent university, the work of the trade unions had taken on a greater significance for their service to the university. He also invited the delegation to attend Sias' 20th Anniversary Celebrations in May.

The delegation then presented the former leader of Sias' Trade Union, Wang Xiaojie, with the "National Excellent Trade Union Worker" certificate. The Vice-Chairman of the Sias Trade Union, Zhang Ru, spoke about the grassroots work of the Sias Trade Union in recent years.

The Vice President of the Henan Federation of Trade Unions, Mei Xianbin, then spoke about his appreciation of the work and achievements of the Sias Trade Union for doing its utmost to effectively safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of the workers. He said that the Sias Trade Union stood out from among the many universities and private colleges in Henan.

Vice President, Wu Hua, congratulated Wang Xiaojie on his work and achievements and said that he hoped that the Trade Union would continue its work among grassroots organizations, as well as strive towards unity among the staff and workers at Sias.

Deputy Party Secretary, Li Huafeng, spoke of the importance of the work of Trade Unions. He said that they would not change their mission even though Sias had become an independent private university. He encouraged the Trade Union to continue its work and set an example for other organizations across the province and keep in line with the requirements of the National Federation of Trade Unions.

The Chairman of the Culture and Sports Union from Henan's Department of Education, Fu Mingxuan, said that he hoped that Sias would continue to attach great importance to the work of the trade union, and thereby aid in the ties between the Communist Party and the workers to address the most urgent and difficult problems.

The delegation from the Henan Federation of Trade Unions, along with Ma Jiansheng and Li Huafeng, had earlier toured the Sias campus, including classrooms, dormitories, European Street, the CUBA Training Facility, Golf Driving Range, Chinese Garden, and Library.
