Sias International University held its annual Charity Banquet on the evening of November 17 at the Banquet Hall of the Library. The Charity Banquet was set up to raise money and awareness for the difficulties faced by underprivileged students and their families. Over 500 Chinese and foreign guests were present at the banquet. Sias leaders, including the Founder and Chairman of the Board, Dr. Shawn Chen, Party Secretary, Ma Jiansheng, President, Chen Sikun, Executive President, Wang Jialin, Vice President, Wu Hua, and Assistant Principal, Guo Xuede, attended the Banquet. The leaders of various departments, academic schools, and residential colleges, as well as teachers and student representatives, were also present.

The Charity Banquet included a cocktail party, silent auction, and dinner.

The Sias News Center produced a video for the event that shed light on the plight of many students. It included interviews with students and their families and showed the guests that there are many students at Sias who could use help from those more privileged.

In a speech, Dr. Chen welcomed the guests and thanked them for attending the Banquet. He said that he was moved by the daily struggle of students, and by the efforts of those who work towards helping them. He said that social responsibility was something that should concern everyone, and efforts should be made to help those less fortunate in society. He said that over the past 20 years, Sias had grown as a student-focused university, all the money raised would be directed towards helping students with financial difficulties. An added benefit was being able to build relationships between elites and industry leaders from a variety of fields.

Since October 29, Sias has been carrying out donation drives and public welfare activities. Through the use of social media platforms such as official websites and micro-blogs, a large number of donations were received from faculty members and alumni.
