World-Renowned Tenor delivers lecture at Sias

World-renown tenor, Ding Yi, delivered a lecture at Sias International University on October 26. Ding Yi was the first Chinese tenor to perform at the Sydney Opera House in Australia and is a professor and doctoral tutor at the China Conservatory of Music. The lecture titled, "Aesthetics and Taste of Vocal Music," was delivered at the School of Music & Opera. The Dean, Sun Weiguo, the Party Secretary, Lou Sujin, along with teachers and students from the School of Music & Opera were present for the lecture. The Founder and Chairman of the Board of Sias, Dr. Shawn Chen, presented Ding Yi with an honorary letter of appointment.


In the lecture, Ding Yi spoke about his own experiences and provided analysis and guidance with regard to the aesthetics of vocal music. He also spoke about characterizations and the judging and processing of sound. He encouraged teachers and students from Sias' School of Music & Opera to continue to perfect their technique and methods in their performances.
