The International Culture Week Finale, the closing ceremony of the International Culture Week at Sias, was held on November 3. A number of Chinese and international guests, along with Sias leaders, were present for the show.

Sias President, Chen Sikun, who presided over the ceremony, welcomed the guests and spoke of the variety of cultures from across China and the world that were represented in the performances.

After the playing of the Chinese and American national anthems, the Chairman of the Board of Sias, Dr. Shawn Chen, spoke about the traditions at Sias for the past 20 years that reflect the internationalization of the university. He spoke of the opportunities that this provided and the international exchanges that it encouraged for students and teachers.

The Deputy Secretary General of the Government of the Province of Jilin, Gao Cailin, delivered a speech and said that he was impressed by Sias' East-meets-West educational philosophy, as well as the internationalized campus and cultural activities. He also said that he hoped that the partnerships and exchanges between universities in Jilin and Sias would increase.

Foreign Faculty Representative, Eric Valdois, spoke of the value and effect that the International Culture Week had had on students and teachers at Sias in the past 10 years that he has been at Sias. International student representative, Katren Hepworth, spoke of her gratitude and love for Sias.

The 2018 International Culture Week Finale concluded with performances by a group from the University of Arizona, members of Sias' foreign faculty, the School of Music & Opera, and a number of student associations.
