Organized by Tencent, the 6th "Jin Ding" Education Awards Ceremony (for the Central Plains of China) was held in Zhengzhou on January 3, 2018. Sias International University was awarded the title of "2017 Brand Strength Among Private Universities", and the Chairman of the Board, Dr. Shawn Chen, was awarded the title of "2017 Outstanding Person of Social Influence in Education". Sias Assistant Principal, Guo Xuede, was present at the award ceremony to deliver a speech and accept the award on behalf of Sias.

At the Awards, Prof. Guo Xuede and the Chairman of the Huang He Science and Technology College, Hu Dabai, addressed over 150 educational elites from across the Central Plains about the exploration of solutions for educational issues in the digital economic age.

In addition to accepting the award on behalf of Sias International University, Assistant Principal, Prof. Guo Xuede, delivered a keynote speech. He spoke of Sias International University being the first university in Henan to be approved by the Degree Committee of the State Council in China to grant both Chinese and American Bachelor's Degrees. Sias has stayed faithful to integrating knowledge with practice, as well combining both Western and Chinese educational philosophies. With a student-focused implementation of quality education, Sias had given students a bilingual international education while striving toward producing students with an international vision and way of thinking so that they could adapt to the economic and social changes in China.

Prof. Guo Xuede accepted the award on behalf of Sias International University. He said that it was an incentive for Sias and would spur the University to greater heights of development in the future.

He said that Sias would continue to nurture its students' innovative spirit and employment competitiveness by training them to be talents with an international vision. Sias would also continually improve its quality educational resources and platforms, thereby expanding the influence of Sias and enhancing its level of competitiveness. The goal, he said, continued to be to create an international university with distinctive features and outstanding advantages for its students.
