Sias commemorates 86th anniversary of 9-18 Incident

In commemoration of the 86th anniversary of the 9-18 Incident, also known as the Mukden Incident, Sias International University held a flag-raising ceremony. Sias Party Secretary, Fei Hexiang, Sias President, Dr. Chen Sikun, Executive Vice President, Dong Qiming, Vice President, Liu Shuqin, Deputy Party Secretary, Li Huafeng, Proctor Han Xiaoai, and Assistant Principals, Sun Rujian, and Guo Xuede, were present at the ceremony. Also in attendance were school leaders, and leaders of the Administrative Office, the Party Committee Work Department, the Academic Affairs Office, the Communist Youth League, the Logistics department, and the Security department. Over 7,000 freshmen participated in the ceremony.


The ceremony began at 6:30 a.m., with the Sias Marching Band playing the national anthem of the People's Republic of China. This was followed by a speech by students' representative, Yi Meng. She called on students to remain patriotic even in an era of peace and stability. At the end of the flag-raising ceremony, Sias Party Secretary delivered a speech in which he spoke of the events of the 9-18 Incident, and of those who lost their lives in the Second Sino-Japanese War (1937-1945). He encouraged students to be patriotic, to be involved with the development of the state, and to constantly seek self-improvement.
