The University of Arizona sent a delegation from its School of Music to visit Sias and establish ties for the future. The delegation included Edward Reid, Director of the School of Music, Professor Larry Xiaoming Lang, Program Manager of the Confucius Institute, and Piano Professor, Dr. Shujing Cheng.

On February 23, Dr. Shawn Chen, the Chairman of the Board of Sias, and William Lu, Director of the International Cooperation and Exchange Department (ICED), led the delegation on a tour of the Sias campus, showing them the rapid development that has characterized Sias over the past decade, and the spirit of internationalization that is seen in every aspect of campus architecture and campus life.

On the 24th, the delegation met with Sias Vice President, Guo Aimin, and the leaders of the School of International Cultural Exchange. They toured the International Cultural Exchange office, the School of Art, and the School of Music. This was followed by a meeting in the Administration Building for an informal discussion with Dr. Shawn Chen, Guo Aimin, and the deans of the School of Music, the School of Opera, and the School of International Cultural Exchange. The two sides decided to continue the cooperation between the two schools, especially with regard to the School of Music, with a view to student exchanges.
