Sias International University won 2 awards at the 2016 "Central Plains" Education Award Ceremony, organized and hosted by Tencent in Zhengzhou. Ministers from the provincial Department of Education, admissions office leaders, industry experts, academic scholars, representatives of the region’s 57 universities and colleges, and more than 40 large teaching institutions were represented by close to 200 people. The delegates were witnesses to new achievements in education along with the increase of new initiatives.

Sias was awarded the 2015 Central Plains Private Education Innovation and Development Award in view of the ongoing Sino-US cooperation in higher education, and for the innovation in higher education. Dr. Shawn Chen, the Founder and Chairman of the Board of Sias, was awarded for being one of the 10 Most Influential Men in Education in the Central Plains.

Sias President, Dr. Chen Sikun, attended the awards ceremony on behalf of the university. He said that the awards were an affirmation of Sias' strength in running a university and that it would aid in the deepening of educational reform, the promotion of development, and the application of technology for the nurturing of high-quality talent.
