From the 6th to the 10th of September, Sias University carried out a series of enrollment education activities through webcasts and online learning platforms. The purpose was to help the freshmen of the 2021/22 academic year understand and adapt to university life, clarify their learning objectives, adjust their learning attitudes, and motivate them to learn. The activities were organized by the Academic Affairs & Scientific Research Office in cooperation with the Administration Office, Academic Affairs Office, Communist Youth League, Security Office, Library, Information Construction and Management Office, and the academic schools at Sias.
On the morning of the 7th of September, the Founder and Chairman of the Board, Dr. Shawn Chen, Sias Party Secretary, Ma Jiansheng, Acting President, Zhao Yuxin, and a teacher from the School of Marxism, Ban Chao, led an online enrollment education class to implement the requirements concerning the safe opening of the university for the 2021 Autumn Semester from the Work Committee for Colleges and Universities of the Henan Party Committee, and the Henan Department of Education. In the afternoon of the same day, the Security Office carried out campus safety education during which detailed explanations for awareness and safety were given to students concerning fire and electrical prevention in dormitories, and fraud prevention.
On the morning of the 8th, representatives of each academic school spoke about their respective school's background, teaching content, teaching plans, and development prospects for each academic major. The goal was to give the freshmen a detailed understanding of the academic schools and their disciplines.
On the 9th, the Academic Affairs Office presented the freshmen with a detailed introduction to the activities at the residential colleges, including student community activities, dormitory management, subsidy policies, labor education, and the management of Covid-19 prevention and control policies.
During the 5-day enrollment education activities, Sias also elaborated on student management, library integration, Communist Party membership procedures, international (overseas) projects, the intelligent campus, and life service guides. The presentations were for the freshmen to understand the structure and functions of the various departments at the university.
Freshman enrollment education is a part of Sias' student-centered ethos and is necessary for students to enter the university. The development of online enrollment education aids students in their adaptation to university life as they begin their academic journeys.
