Sias held a drill for the opening of the university for the autumn semester of the 2021/22 academic year on the 23rd of September. The drill was held to improve the prevention and control work concerning the Covid-19 pandemic and ensure that the university opens safely. Sias Party Secretary, Ma Jiansheng, Acting President, Zhao Yuxin, Vice President, Zheng Min, Deputy Party Secretary, Li Huafeng, and Vice President, Xu Shengdao, attended the drill. The heads and deputy heads of all the Prevention and Control Leading Groups and Working Groups were also present.
Ma Jiansheng delivered a mobilization speech in which he pointed out that the current situation of the Covid-19 pandemic was still serious and complex, and the tasks that lay ahead were difficult. Preventing cases, he said, along with emergency preparedness, were tasks that involved everyone at Sias. He stressed the need for understanding and teamwork, and the need for a unified defense against the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Zhao Yuxin then announced the official start of the drill.
Following the requirements for the opening of the university for the autumn semester, particularly the prevention and control work, the drill simulated identity verification, luggage disinfection, body temperature detection, hand disinfection, information registration, reservations, and meals. It also simulated student check-ins, dining in cafeterias, and entry to the dormitories. Emergency responses for students with abnormal body temperatures were also simulated.
The head of the special medical security team explained the procedures for emergency treatment at every drill simulation point, with work divided between special teams.
After the drill, the university leaders had a summary meeting. The heads of every special working group spoke about the drill and summarized their experiences and work. They also put forward suggestions for existing problems.
