The Sias leadership held a meeting concerning the university's economics, and reviewed and approved a construction plan for applied technology in undergraduate colleges and universities to be implemented at Sias University from 2021-2025. In May this year, Sias was designated as a model application technology type undergraduate university in the province of Henan, and the approved "model university" plan will guide the general direction of the university to realize its development goals as a "model university" in 2025.

The construction of the "model university" is an important measure to promote the integration of industry and education, accelerate the training of talent, and improve the quality of service provided by colleges and universities. The construction of Sias' "model university" will be guided by the implementation of educational teaching reform, the promotion of the comprehensive integration of industry and education, and the exploration of the integration of government, industry, university, research, application, and innovation. It will focus on nurturing high-quality applied talent, their ability to serve local economic development, and the support of the operations of an innovative system and mechanism.

During the five-year construction period of the "model university", Sias will focus on nine projects:

- the project of Party building and ideological and political work

- professional cluster construction strengthening project

- reform and innovation project of the talent training system

- industry-university research integration platform project

- characteristic industry-university construction project

- training and construction projects of high-quality teachers

- academic course creation and scientific research capability improvement project

- international school characteristic strengthening project

- comprehensive upgrading project of informatization and intelligent campus construction

Within five years, Sias will focus on the construction and completion of six major types of key projects:

- the establishment of a characteristic industry-focused university

- innovation and entrepreneurship

- scientific research and social services

- "double qualified" adaptable and capable teachers

- intelligent campus

- comprehensive scientific research training base

Sias aims to strengthen organizational security, deepen institutional reform, increase investment, use its strengths, plan, lead, and implement a layered hierarchical system to carry out the construction of "model school".
