The Henan Department of Education issued a notice on publishing the second batch of provincial teachers' teaching development demonstration centers (JG []2021] No.381) on the 18th of October. After the publishing on requirements and conditions to be met, field investigations, reports and defenses, online publicity, and other procedures, the Teacher Development Center at Sias University was approved to be among the "Second Batch of Henan University Teachers' Teaching Development Demonstration Centers". It is not only an approval of the Teaching Development Center at Sias but a recognition of the work of the Sias leadership.
On the 18th of June, after receiving a notice from the Henan (Provincial) Department of Education concerning the creation of the second batch of provincial teachers' teaching development demonstration centers, the Teacher Development Center of Sias University officially declared its interest.
On the afternoon of the 3rd of September, the Expert Group from the Henan Department of Education visited Sias to inspect the application work of the Teacher Development Center. Sias Acting President, Zhao Yuxin, led the heads of the Human Resources Department and the Teacher Development Center in attending the meeting and accompanied the visiting delegation on an on-site inspection. During the report and inspection, the Expert Group had detailed conversations with Sias leaders and teachers to get a deeper understanding of the Teacher Development Center and the education and teaching at Sias.
On the morning of the 5th of September, Sias Vice President, Zheng Min, and the heads of the Human Resources Department and the Teacher Development Center visited the Dongfeng Campus of the Zhengzhou University of Light Industry to participate in the defense of the application of Sias' Teacher Development Center to be a part of the 2nd Batch of Provincial Teachers' Teaching Development Demonstration Centers. At the meeting, Zheng Min spoke about the institutional setting, conditional guarantees, creation of teams, work characteristics and results, exchanges, and work plans created by the Teacher Development Center. She also answered all the judges' questions in detail.
The selection and creation of provincial teachers' teaching development demonstration centers involve the selection of excellent units among colleges and universities in the province of Henan, to implement the directives of the provincial Communist Party Committee and the Government of Henan concerning the reform of teachers' team building in the New Era. It also concerns guiding colleges and universities to build teachers' teaching development centers with a high level of discipline. The purpose is to focus on improving the professionalism and teaching ability of young and middle-aged teachers, to plan for teacher development, strengthen training, to give a platform for teaching demonstration and professional guidance, to provide services and support for teacher development, and to promote the improvement of teachers' teaching quality. For the second batch, 12 demonstration centers were selected from among the colleges and universities across Henan.
