After listening to the provincial (Henan government) video conference on the prevention and control of the Covid-19 pandemic in the winter and spring, Sias University immediately held a special conference concerning Covid-19 prevention and control. According to the directives laid out by the Henan Department of Education, Sias organized prevention and control work at the university.

Sias Party Secretary, and Leader of the Covid-19 Prevention & Control Leading Group, Ma Jiansheng, and Vice President, and Executive Deputy Leader of the Covid-19 Prevention & Control Leading Group, Zheng Min, attended the meeting. Leaders of the special working groups for Covid-19 prevention and control also attended the meeting.

At the meeting, it was pointed out that outbreaks have occurred in many places in China. This meant that the prevention and control of Covid-19 was still serious, and the prevention and control work at the Sias campus was facing a significant test yet again. All the participants were instructed to quickly implement the directives from the conference held by the Henan Department of Education and spread information and awareness of these tasks to teachers and students at Sias. They were also instructed to formulate new plans and improve existing prevention and control measures for the winter and spring at the Sias campus for the safety of teachers and students.

Some of the important instructions given to the special working groups involved,
- the strengthening of supervision and inspections at all levels to relieve the pressure on each group;
- the closing and monitoring of all gates and entrances to the campus, as well as stepping up the campus management;
- increasing the regularity of disinfection of the campus cafeterias;
- improving the publicity and awareness of health education for teachers and students;
- implementing prevention and control measures for the winter in advance, before the winter vacation;
- formulating a scientific plan for the re-opening of the university and student registration in the spring of 2022.
