Sias University's Employment and Entrepreneurship Department held the finals of the 2021 University Students’ Career Planning Competition on December 8. Sias Vice President, Zheng Min, attended the competition and served as a judge along with leaders of the Employment and Entrepreneurship Department, the International Language Center, Academic Affairs Office, School of Education, and the Development Planning Office. The competition was held to help students master the skills and methods of career planning, and to promote a higher quality and rate of employment and entrepreneurship for graduates.
The competition ran for one month, and after the preliminary rounds and the semi-finals, 7 contestants qualified for the finals. During the finals, the contestants combined their applied professional knowledge of career planning in written reports on which they were interviewed. It also included slideshow presentations and career scenario simulation displays. The themes covered self-cognition, career cognition, career decision-making, evaluation, and professional ethics. A final question session had the judges quiz the contestants on their personal plans and ideals.
At the end of the competition, there were 5 first prizes, 7 second prizes, 9 third prizes, and 8 excellent prizes across various categories. There were also awards for excellent instructors and organizational awards for residential colleges.
