Ling Jialian, the Secretary, Xu Wenjian, and Sias Acting President, Zhao Yuxin, attended the symposium. Leaders, faculty, and student representatives from the Academic Affairs & Scientific Research Office and the School of Law also attended the symposium. The Dean of the School of Law, Wang Longtian, presided over the proceedings.

The Deputy Director of the Academic Affairs & Scientific Research Office, Zhao Chengjian, welcomed the guests on behalf of the university. The Deputy Party Secretary of the School of Law, Yang Yahan, introduced the academic course creation and the students from the School of Law. The Assistant Director of the Academic Affairs & Scientific Research Office, Chen Jing, spoke about the academic courses and approved teaching projects at the university. The guests, teachers, and students then watched promotional videos from the Hong Kong Intellectual Property Exchange and the U.S.-China Business Association.

Wu Gaolin presented a special report on the development history, values, industry prospects, and academic focus of Intellectual Property. He pointed out that China's traditional culture and Chinese philosophy were an important basis for the creation and development of intellectual property courses. He said that with the development of the economy, the knowledge requirements for intellectual property professionals were increasing rapidly. Talent, he said, should be trained not only to have an excellent cultural understanding but to also have compound knowledge and skills combined with a solid professional background in science and engineering.

Ling Jialian discussed the specific implementation measures on cooperative teaching, cooperative education, practice, and the creation of a professional intellectual property curriculum and teaching/training system between the Hong Kong Intellectual Property Exchange and Sias' School of Law.

Teachers from the School of Law then exchanged views on the nurturing of high-quality compound talent, the required academic background of intellectual property majors, a student's ability and training, and the interdisciplinary requirements that would include artificial intelligence, big data, and bioscience.
