2022 Application Technology Projects Review Meeting

January 13, 2022

A review meeting of key development projects of application technology in undergraduate colleges and universities was held at Sias University in the conference room of the Academic Affairs & Scientific Research Office on the afternoon of January 13. Sias Acting President, Zhao Yuxin, attended the meeting along with evaluation experts from the Academic Affairs & Scientific Research Office, the Financial Assets Department, and the Procurement and Contract Management Center. The Deputy Director of the Academic Affairs & Scientific Research Office, Zhao Chengjian, presided over the meeting.

The meeting, held online and offline, reviewed ten key development projects, including four industrial-academic schools, three specialized subject fields of study, and three other projects. Each project leader presented an annual plan and plans for funding the project in detail. They also focused on potential problems that they anticipated and put forward specific solutions for these problems.

The review experts pointed out that the existing academic schools should make use of the facilities and advantages provided by academic institutions, enterprises, and industrial organizations to promote resource sharing and to enable enterprises and industries to participate in academic course creation, curriculum creation, textbook creation, teacher training, talent training, and evaluation. They also stressed that project creation units should continue to improve the software and hardware configurations and unblock information and talent exchange channels with the help of project partners. This, they said, would create a synergy between various disciplines within a cluster that would improve their competitiveness. They encouraged the cooperation between enterprises and scientific research institutes to support teachers to undertake projects and support students to participate in these projects.

Zhao Yuxin affirmed each project and said that creating application-oriented "demonstration schools" is a vital step for the continued development of the integration of industry and education at Sias. He said that the university will improve its organizational structure of this integration by carrying out research at various levels, and would encourage creativity in teaching organizations as well.
