The 2022 Provincial (Henan) Education Conference was held in Zhengzhou on January 22. All the leaders of Sias University, heads of departments, heads of academic schools, and residential colleges attended the meeting online. Sias Party Secretary, Ma Jiansheng, delivered a speech at the conference.
At the conference, the Head of the Discipline Inspection and Supervision Team of the Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision at the Henan Department of Education, and Secretary of the Provincial Discipline Work Committee of Colleges and Universities, Zhu Junfeng, presented the instructions of (Henan) Vice Governor, Huo Jinhua, on education. The Head of the Secretary Group of the Provincial Education Leading Group, Secretary of the Party Group, and Director of the Henan Department of Education, Song Zhenghui, systematically reviewed and summarized Henan's main achievements in education in 2021. He analyzed the new opportunities, challenges, situations, and tasks faced by the provincial education system, and made general arrangements for the work in the coming year. He also reminded those present of 10 fundamental tasks concerning morality and nurturing talent for the development of education in Henan - improving the style of work, accelerating the creation of a strong province of education, promoting higher education, accelerating the development of vocational education, promoting an improvement of quality and balance in basic education, improving Party building in the education system, strengthening ideological and political work, deepening educational reform, promoting educational equity, and improving educational security.
Sias had exchanges with eight other educational institutions at the conference, including the Zhengzhou Municipal Education Bureau, the Education Bureau of Anyang Municipality, the Zhoukou Education and Sports Bureau, Zhengzhou University, the Henan University of Science & Technology, the Henan Polytechnic University, and the Henan Vocational & Technical College.
Ma Jiansheng spoke about the achievements of Sias concerning Party construction and the promotion of development. He spoke about creating plans for Party construction and consolidation, ideological and political work, and the rights and interests of teachers and students. He also spoke about the importance of clean and honest governance, the study of Party history, and the reform of education and teaching to meet the requirements of teaching evaluation. He said that Sias had used its organizational strengths to consolidate grass-roots work, innovation, and the sharing of responsibilities, for the Party's work concerning poverty alleviation, Covid-19 prevention and control, flood control and disaster relief, and various campus voluntary services. Centered on the School of Marxism, Sias was deeply engaged in ideological and political education based on the curriculum approved by the government of Henan. The university does this while promoting stability and development as an international educational institution through innovative education, reform, and various tutor teams. For example, since the establishment of the Calligraphy Academy at Sias, students had won over 680 off-campus awards, including 168 national awards.
The fact that the Party Secretary of Sias delivered a speech at the Provincial Education Work Conference reflects the affirmation and recognition of the Party construction, education, and teaching management undertaken by the Sias Communist Party Committee and the Sias United Front Work Department by the Provincial (Henan) Department of Education.
