Sias University organized the Spring Semester Opening Drill for the 2021-22 academic year on February 17. The drill was held to ensure the safe and smooth reopening of the university, create a safety barrier through Covid-19 prevention and control, and improve emergency responses. Sias Party Secretary, Ma Jiansheng, Acting President, Zhao Yuxin, Vice President, Zheng Min, and Vice President, and Chairman of the Trade Union, Wu Hua, attended the drill. Zheng Min presided over the event.
Ma Jiansheng said that the current situation concerning Covid-19 prevention and control was still serious and complex. In order to ensure the complete return of teachers and students to the university and ensure the safety and stability of the campus, the entire university had to bear the responsibility of prevention and control. He said that the goal should be to restore normal classes and teaching at the university, in combination with safety education. Zhao Yuxin announced the official opening of the drill.
During the drill, according to the requirements of the government of Henan's notice on the prevention and control of Covid-19 in the spring of 2022, all departments simulated identity verification, luggage disinfection, body temperature detection, and hand disinfection, as well as the return and check-in of students at the East Gate of the campus, and dining in restaurants (Castle restaurant) and dormitories (Huanyu Residential College). The process of detection and response to students with an abnormal body temperature was also simulated.
After the drill, the university leaders summarized and gave instructions for the prevention and control work at the beginning of the semester. They said that the drill was successful and that the monitoring of health and cooperation between departments was carried out in accordance with the relevant requirements from the government.
