On March 16, Sias University held a special meeting on prevention and control after the university leadership listened to the Henan (provincial) Department of Education's video conference on the prevention and control of the Covid-19 pandemic. Sias Party Secretary, and leader of the Prevention & Control Leading Group, Ma Jiansheng, Acting President and leader of the Prevention & Control Leading Group, Vice President, and executive deputy leader of the Prevention & Control Leading Group, Zheng Min, Deputy Party Secretary, and deputy leader of the Prevention & Control Leading Group, Li Huafeng, and Vice President, Chairman of the Trade Union, and deputy leader of the Prevention & Control Leading Group, Wu Hua, were present at the meeting. The leaders of special categories under the special working groups also attended the meeting.

At the meeting, the leaders stressed that the current state of the Covid-19 pandemic was very serious, being widespread with frequent outbreaks. They said that the risk for the Sias campus had increased. They said that the university should not take this situation lightly, and everyone should remain resolute, determined, and strict with implementing the various measures for the prevention and control of Covid-19.

At the meeting, it was stated that all special categories and groups should implement the directives from the Henan Department of Education's video conference concerning the prevention and control of the pandemic. The leaders said that all possible risk points and entry points into the campus were to be focused on, with the goal of finding out weaknesses and improving upon them.
