On June 18, the finals of the 27th China Daily "21st Century Cup" National College Students' English Speech Contest (Henan) was held in Zhengzhou. The regional finalists were selected online. Sias student, Wei Shihao, won the third prize and will represent Henan students in the national semi-finals. Li Yufei, also a Sias student, finished third in another category.

The theme was "From Zero-Sum Game to a Win-Win Situation". Through online rounds and campus selection, 28 students from 21 colleges and universities across Henan province made it to the provincial finals.

The "21st Century Cup" National College Students' English Speech Contest was founded in 1996. It is hosted by China Daily and organized by 21st Century English Education Media. It is the only competition in China affiliated with the International Public English Speech Contest (IPSC) in London, England. It has become an international and professional learning and communication platform for English educators and learners. Liu Xin and Wang Guan of CCTV, and Sun Ning, Zhang Lu, and Zhang Jing, famous translators at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs were all past winners of the competition and participated in international competitions representing China.
