In order to broaden international collaborations and further enhance the internationalization Sias University, Professor Lucy Lu, Provost and Vice President of Sias University, conducted on a series of visits to prestigious universities across the UK from November 18 to 28. Her visit included esteemed institutions such as University of Oxford, University of Cambridge, Arts University Bournemouth, Bournemouth University, and University of Bath. The objective of these visits was to expand the scope of international cooperation projects, introduce cutting-edge educational ethos and teaching & learning practices, and catalyze innovation and advancement in the international education landscape of Sias University.

On November 18, Prof. Lucy Lu visited Arts University Bournemouth to engage in insightful discussions with Prof. Paul Gough, Vice Chancellor of Arts University Bournemouth. Additionally, she met with Tim Metcalf, Director of School, Arts and Communication, as well as Ms. Dan Meyer, Manager of International Cooperation Department, and Ms. Claire McIntyre, Director of International Development Department. Through these extensive meetings, a consensus was reached on collaborating in various fields, including multimedia and design, fashion communication, innovation management, among others. Moreover, agreements were made regarding the exchange of faculty and students, joint cultivation, and the integration of industry and education between the two sides.

On November 19th, Professor Lucy Lu visited the University of Bath and held discussions with Professor Julian Chaudhuri, the Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Education and Global) of University of Bath, and Ms. Dörte Stevenson, Director of External Relations. The conversations centered on student exchanges, academic enhancements, faculty development, and collaboration opportunities. Both parties agreed to collaborate in areas such as student exchange programs, academic advancements, faculty exchange visits, and teacher training, thereby establishing a foundation for Sias University to foster globally-oriented talents.

On November 22, Professor Lucy Lu visited Bournemouth University and met with Dr. Alastair Morrison, Head of International Partnerships and Global Engagement Hub, Dean of Bournemouth School of Management, and Director of MBA Program. Following their meeting, both parties came to a consensus on collaborating in various domains including publication, student exchange programs, academic promotion, faculty exchange visits, faculty training, and further academic advancements.

On November 26, Professor Lucy Lu visited Cambridge Judge Business School and Wolfson College of University of Cambridge. During the visit, Professor Lucy Lu met with Professor Ian White, former Vice Chancellor of University of Cambridge. The two sides exchanged views on a range of topics, including higher education in the age of AI, the challenges and opportunities faced by the academic system in higher education, the potential for internationalization in China's private universities, and how best to cultivate internationally competent talents. Professor Ian White expressed his keen interest in further discussing the development and enhancement of residential college systems, and he looks forward to engaging in such discussions at Sias University in the future.

On November 28, Professor Lucy Lu visited Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, and met with Professor Soumitra Dutta, Dean of Saïd Business School. The two sides engaged in a thoughtful discussion on the implementation of AI in higher education and the future trajectory of educational development. They also exchanged ideas on potential research collaboration areas for future partnerships between Sias and Oxford.

Professor Lucy Lu's visit to the UK not only underscored Sias's robust internationalization capabilities and the development of educational innovation, but also forged a fresh bridge for collaboration between Sias and globally renowned higher education institutions. This visit is instrumental in fostering the cultivation of outstanding internationalized talents and contributing positively to societal development.
