To further enhance the internationalization of Sias and broaden the global perspectives of our faculty and students, the Office of International Affairs invited the renowned American conductor, Professor Alan Mills, for a visit from February 22 to March 7. With his profound musical expertise and extensive international stage experience, Professor Mills provided invaluable academic guidance and practical insights to our School of Music and Drama.

During his two-week visit, Professor Mills immersed himself in the School of Music and Drama, working closely with the wind ensemble faculty and students. He not only personally conducted rehearsals but also shared cutting-edge international teaching philosophies, offering strong support for the development and professional growth of our music majors.

On the evening of March 6, a special concert performed by Sias wind ensemble showcased the collaborative efforts of Professor Mills and our faculty and students. Dr. Shawn Chen, Founder and Chairman of Sias University, extended a warm welcome to Professor Mills via video. Dr. Chen expressed that the diligent efforts of Professor Mills in academic exchange and guidance, as well as the valuable advice he provided on school management and operations, would have a profound impact on the development of the School of Music and Drama. During the concert, Sias officially appointed Professor Alan Mills as Visiting Professor and Assistant to Dean of the School of Music and Drama.

This concert not only highlighted the exceptional skills of School of Music and Drama faculty and students, but also marked a significant achievement in Sias's efforts to promote internationalization and global exchange and cooperation. Moving forward, Sias will continue to attract high-level talents, enhance international collaboration, and provide more opportunities for faculty and students to engage with world-class scholars, thereby supporting the high-quality development of Sias.
