To further advance international education initiatives and broaden the academic horizons of faculty and students, Sias School of Business hosted a special academic lecture on "The Philosophical Foundations of Cross-Cultural Management" on May 21, delivered by Professor Tang Yinshan, Associate Dean of Henley Business School, University of Reading (UK). Professor Lucy Lu, Provost and Vice President of Sias University, and leaders of Sias Business School, along with over 200 faculty members and students, attended the event.

Prior to the lecture, Prof. Lu and Business School representatives engaged in in-depth discussions with Prof. Tang on topics including international talent cultivation, research collaboration, and faculty-student exchanges. Prof. Lu highlighted Sias’s remarkable achievements in international education in recent years and expressed eagerness to deepen cooperation with Henley Business School in areas such as joint curriculum development and faculty exchanges. The Dean of Sias Business School provided a detailed overview of the school’s educational model and distinctive features, while Associate Dean Xu Luyao outlined specific areas for collaboration, including faculty development, curriculum partnerships, and joint research initiatives, based on the current status of Sias Business School’s internationalization efforts. Prof. Tang commended the Business School’s educational strengths and offered constructive suggestions for future collaboration.

Following the meeting, Prof. Tang delivered an insightful lecture at Sias Library Room L016, where he analyzed the similarities and differences between European and Chinese management philosophies from cultural and stylistic perspectives. His comprehensive exploration provided attendees with a clearer understanding of the shared traits and divergences in Sino-British management cultures. The lecture also focused on leadership development, with Prof. Tang sharing advanced European approaches to leadership cultivation, such as mindset formation for leaders and strategies for fostering team collaboration. This sparked lively discussions and introspection among the audience.
In closing, Prof. Lu presented Prof. Tang with a certificate of appointment as a visiting professor. Prof. Lu encouraged faculty and students to embrace cultural diversity with an open mindset and to approach personal development with a global vision. She also urged the Business School to focus on "innovation, internationalization, and student growth," continuously refining its curriculum, expanding international partnerships, and nurturing business professionals with global competence.
