Vancouver, Canada – From June 23 to 27 (local time), Wu Hua, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Sias Committee, Executive Vice President, Chairman of the Labor Union of Sias University, led a delegation to Vancouver, Canada, to participate in the British Columbia International Education Week (BCIEW) and attend the Council Meeting of the University Mobility in Asia and the Pacific (UMAP). The visit strengthened partnerships with North American institutions and expanded Sias’s global education network through exchanges with international organizations and government representatives.

During the UMAP Council Meeting, Wu Hua actively contributed insights for the alliance’s future development. He engaged in in-depth discussions with consular representatives from China, Mexico, Peru, Japan, the Philippines, Thailand, and officials from the British Columbia Ministry of Education, exploring new opportunities for international education cooperation. As a key UMAP member and Chair of the China Regional Committee, Wu reaffirmed Sias University’s commitment to advancing student exchange programs, credit recognition systems, and joint degree initiatives, injecting fresh momentum into Asia-Pacific higher education collaboration.

A strategic dialogue was also held with Randal Martin, Director of the British Columbia Council for International Education (BCCIE), where both parties emphasized the potential for deeper Sino-Canadian educational ties through resource integration and policy alignment, aiming to enrich students’ global learning experiences.

The delegation further visited the University of British Columbia (UBC) and Kwantlen Polytechnic University (KPU), conducting productive meetings with international affairs leaders and academic representatives. Notably, Wu Hua convened a special session with Sias alumni based in Vancouver to discuss the establishment of the "Sias Vancouver Alumni Association." He shared updates on Sias’s progress, particularly its achievements in international education, urging alumni to strengthen ties with their alma mater and foster global professional networks.

Wu Hua underscored that this Canadian mission epitomizes Sias’s strategic commitment to globalization. By engaging with UMAP members, consulates, and leading universities, the delegation not only consolidated existing partnerships but also pioneered new avenues for future collaboration. The university remains dedicated to nurturing globally competent professionals and creating international platforms for students and faculty.

This visit marks a significant milestone in Sias University’s journey toward global educational integration. Moving forward, the institution will deepen ties with international partners, promote resource sharing, and expand opportunities for global academic and professional development.
