Vice President Professor Yuan Guanglin Delivers Lecture at Distinguished Scholars Forum, Guiding Young Faculty in Research Advancement

On the afternoon of April 1, the 15th session of the Distinguished Scholars Forum was held in Conference Room 1003 on the 10th floor of the university library. Professor Yuan Guanglin, Vice President of the university, was invited to deliver a keynote lecture titled Academic Innovation and Paper Publication: The Path for Young Faculty to Advance in Research.Nearly one hundred young faculty members attended the event.


During the lecture, Professor Yuan focused on the key challenges faced by young faculty in their research work. He systematically outlined six core elements of academic writing and publication, encouraging participants to strengthen their foundation across six dimensions: problem awareness, critical thinking, theoretical grounding, logical reasoning, a spirit of exploration, and practical application.

In addition, he presented a comprehensive overview of eight innovative approaches to academic writing. Through detailed explanations supported by concrete case studies, he provided valuable insights into improving research output. He further recommended that young faculty take innovation in the application of theory as a starting point, and steadily enhance the quality and academic standard of their publications.

The lecture content was closely aligned with practical research needs and offered strong, actionable guidance. It effectively addressed the common challenges encountered by young faculty in academic writing and publication, while also providing a clear pathway for improving research capabilities and fostering long-term academic development.
