University Hosts Exchange Meeting for the 3rd “Digital Education Innovation Competition” International Student Category

On April 2, the exchange meeting for the international student category of the 3rd“Digital Education Innovation Competition” was held at the university library. Representatives and experts from the China Educational Technology Association attended the meeting, along with delegates from Minzu University of China, Beijing Normal University, Shandong University, and Yellow River Conservancy Technical Institute.

In addition, more than 20 representatives from universities including Yunnan Normal University, Lanzhou University, and Shanghai University of Finance and Economics participated online. Zhao Yuxin, Vice President of the university, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Representatives from the Office of Information Technology Development and Management, the School of International Education, and faculty members were also present.

Zhao Yuxin first extended a warm welcome to all attending guests and provided a detailed introduction to the university’s distinctive approach to cultivating international talent, the educational experience of international students on campus, and the progress made in integrating artificial intelligence into education.

During the meeting, Feng Di from Beijing Language and Culture University delivered a systematic overview of the competition, explaining its core objectives, procedures, and evaluation criteria, and offering a clear interpretation of the key focus of this year’s international student category.

During the discussion session, Li Xia, Advisor to the Office of Information Technology Development and Management, introduced the university’s organization of the intelligent agent competition and its technical support for digital human applications. Wang Jing, Dean of the School of International Education, provided a brief report on the university’s preparations for international student participation. Faculty representatives from the college, drawing on their frontline teaching experience, also offered suggestions on topics such as digital human storytelling.

Both in-person and online participants engaged in in-depth discussions on the specific rules and requirements of the international student track of the Digital Education Innovation Competition, further clarifying key aspects of the event.

According to the organizers, the international student category of the 3rd “Digital Education Innovation Competition” features four main tracks: “Telling China’s Stories Well,”“Mutual Learning Among Civilizations,” “Chinese Language Plus Vocational Skills,” and “Cross-cultural Language Communication.” The competition is open to both degree-seeking and non-degree international students studying in China. Participants are encouraged to form interdisciplinary teams with Chinese students, faculty members, and digital human developers, emphasizing the integration of authentic storytelling with technological empowerment.

Registration for the competition began in March, with the submission deadline set for April 20. The final showcase is scheduled to take place in Hangzhou in May.
