To advance the high-quality revision of the 2026 talent training plan and draw on the valuable experience of peer institutions, on the afternoon of April 2, a delegation led by Vice President Zhao Yuxin visited North China University of Water Resources and Electric Power for a focused research and exchange session. Representatives from the Academic Affairs Office, the School of Economics and Management, the School of International Education, and the Faculty of Engineering joined the visit. Vice President Song Gangfu, along with representatives from the Academic Affairs Office and relevant schools, warmly received the delegation and attended the meeting.

At the meeting, Song Gangfu introduced the university’s history, academic development, and recent achievements. Zhou Guanqiong, Deputy Director of the Academic Affairs Office, outlined the key measures for revising the 2026 talent training plan. The university has adopted a “three-category, three-level” framework and implemented a “four increases and three reductions” strategy, strengthening artificial intelligence, interdisciplinary integration, and personalized courses, while reducing credits in foreign languages, general electives, and certain foundational courses. The institution also shared its practices in cultivating top-tier talent and developing micro-major programs.

During the discussion session, both sides engaged in in-depth exchanges on topics such as training in less commonly taught languages, balancing class hours and credits, alignment with program accreditation, and the restructuring of long-established majors. They also exchanged views on advancing industry-education integration and developing internationally oriented talent.

Zhao Yuxin noted that North China University of Water Resources and Electric Power has demonstrated advanced concepts, a well-structured system, and effective measures in revising its 2026 talent training plan. The university’s valuable experience and distinctive practices provide important references for advancing related work at our institution.

This visit has broadened perspectives and clarified the direction for the revision of the 2026 talent training plan. Moving forward, the university will incorporate the outcomes of this exchange, accelerate improvements to the revision plan, and work toward building an application-oriented talent training system with distinctive Sias characteristics.
