To further study and implement Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, strengthen the ideological and political guidance of the Communist Youth League, and guide young members to build a firm foundation of ideals and beliefs, the opening ceremony for the 2025–2026 “Young Marxists Training Program” and the 20th Training Program for Outstanding Communist Youth League Members was held on the afternoon of April 8 at the Opera House Teaching Theater. Wu Hua, Deputy Secretary of the University Party Committee, attended the event. Representatives from Party and administrative departments, deputy Party secretaries of residential colleges, secretaries and deputy secretaries of Youth League branches, officials from the University Youth League Committee, and all trainees participated in the ceremony, which was hosted by Guo Ziwei, Deputy Secretary of the University Youth League Committee.

The ceremony began with a solemn flag-raising presentation, followed by all attendees standing to sing the national anthem.

Guo Ziwei outlined the training plan and requirements for the 20th session, emphasizing a combination of theoretical study and practical training. The program will cover political theory, Youth League regulations, and current policies, while also stressing discipline and assessment standards. Participants were encouraged to remain disciplined, gain meaningful knowledge, and integrate learning with practice.

Student representative Fu Yuetong expressed determination to cherish the training opportunity, strive to become exemplary role models, and called on fellow students to study diligently and take on responsibilities with commitment.

Wu Hua noted that the current period marks a critical stage in advancing the upcoming Five-Year Plan, and that the trainees present are not only witnesses to the times but also builders and contributors. He put forward three expectations: to strengthen ideals and beliefs, to develop strong capabilities by integrating theory with practice—especially in innovation, entrepreneurship, and volunteer service—and to cultivate moral character by actively practicing core socialist values and demonstrating the positive image of Sias students.

Following the ceremony, Feng Shijie, an outstanding participant of the Young Marxists Training Program, delivered a peer-sharing session, presenting insights from provincial-level training and conveying a spirit of responsibility and dedication among youth.

In the first lecture session, Zhang Qian, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Mingli Residential College and the School of Marxism, delivered a keynote lecture titled “Shining with Youthful Brilliance in the Practice of Chinese Modernization in Henan.” The lecture focused on development goals and guided students to take active roles in areas such as technological innovation, rural revitalization, and social governance.

This training program aims to cultivate a group of young political talents with firm beliefs, strong abilities, and excellent character through systematic theoretical study and practical experience. Moving forward, the University Youth League Committee will continue to improve the talent development system and strengthen the cultivation of young leaders, contributing to the development of capable and responsible youth for the future.
