On the afternoon of April 14, a delegation led by Huang Yu, Associate Vice President of Beijing Normal University–Hong Kong Baptist University (BNBU), visited the University and held a meeting on inter-university cooperation in the conference room on the 15th floor of the Library. Chen Xiaochun, Founder and Chairman of the University, attended the meeting, along with representatives from relevant departments and academic schools, as well as faculty representatives from the School of Journalism and Communication of Zhengzhou University.

Shawn Chen introduced the University’s achievements in institutional development, noting that the University is actively advancing AI-empowered education through initiatives such as specialized AI training programs, “AI + Programming” curriculum reform, and project-based learning. He also shared insights into current practices and challenges in faculty development and the cultivation of students’ advanced competencies. He expressed hope that this exchange would serve as an opportunity to further strengthen collaboration between mainland and Hong Kong universities in areas such as academic research, talent cultivation, and pathways for further education.

Huang Yu shared insights into BNBU s innovative practices and experiences in areas such as AI-driven educational transformation, the integration of arts and technology, and internationalized talent cultivation. He highlighted interdisciplinary approaches to education, offering valuable references for future collaboration between the two institutions.

During the meeting, Jia Shiqiu, Dean of the School of Journalism and Communication, held in-depth discussions with the delegation on the development of postgraduate progression pathways. He expressed the hope of leveraging BNBU’s high-quality educational resources and internationalized curriculum system to create convenient channels for Sias students to pursue further studies in Hong Kong, thereby enhancing their competitiveness in postgraduate applications.

Both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on topics including AI-empowered education, interdisciplinary talent cultivation, opportunities for students to pursue further studies in Hong Kong, and the sharing of academic resources, reaching broad consensus on future collaboration. They agreed to establish a long-term cooperation mechanism and to jointly explore new pathways for coordinated development between mainland and Hong Kong higher education, with the goal of cultivating high-quality talent with a global perspective.
The exchange was practical and productive, further expanding the University’s channels for international engagement and laying a solid foundation for deepening cooperation with Hong Kong institutions and advancing the integration of AI and education.
