Sias University Holds Promotion Meeting on Master’s Degree Authorization Program Development

On March 6, Sias University convened a promotion meeting on the development of master’s degree authorization programs in Conference Room 1003 on the 10th floor of the library. Wang Yang, Deputy Director of the Graduate Affairs Office of Pingdingshan University, was invited to attend and provide guidance. The meeting was chaired by Vice President Yuan Guanglin, with participation from heads of relevant administrative departments, as well as deans (directors) and coordinators from related schools and departments.

During the meeting, Wang Yang delivered a keynote report titled “Practical Approaches to Developing Master’s Degree-Granting Institutions in Local Universities.” Centered on Pingdingshan University’s journey toward obtaining master’s degree authorization, the report systematically shared practical experience, key pathways, and effective methodologies, offering targeted guidance for Sias University’s ongoing efforts in this area.

In the discussion session, participants engaged in in-depth exchanges on key challenges and priorities in program development. Wang Yang addressed questions one by one and provided detailed explanations on the standards and essential requirements for completing documentation related to professional degree authorization programs.

Vice President Yuan Guanglin outlined specific arrangements for advancing the university’s master’s degree authorization program development. He emphasized the need for all units to strengthen awareness, enhance interdepartmental coordination, and systematically identify and address gaps in alignment with the evaluation指标体系 (indicator system). He also called for refining implementation plans and promoting all tasks with high standards and strict requirements to ensure steady progress and tangible outcomes in the development of master’s degree programs.
