To further deepen industry-education integration and strengthen collaboration between the university and medical institutions, as well as to promote innovation in talent cultivation for majors such as Rehabilitation Therapy, from March 17 to 18, Vice President Zhao Yuxin led a six-member delegation from the Academic Affairs Office and the School of Medicine to Ningbo, Zhejiang Province. The visit focused on the unveiling of a teaching hospital partnership and research on advancing the “2+2” joint training program and revising talent development plans.

On the morning of March 17, the delegation visited Ningbo Rehabilitation Hospital, where both sides jointly held a plaque-unveiling ceremony for the teaching hospital partnership. The event was attended by Wang Haoyu, Party Secretary and President of the hospital, along with other hospital leaders and department representatives. Following the ceremony, a symposium was held to discuss the “2+2” joint training model.

Zhao Yuxin introduced the university’s educational特色, the development of the School of Medicine, and its achievements in talent cultivation. He emphasized that the establishment of the teaching hospital marks an important step in deepening collaboration between medical education and clinical practice. He expressed hope that the partnership would facilitate resource sharing and complementary advantages, jointly cultivating high-quality, application-oriented professionals in rehabilitation medicine.

Representatives from Ningbo Rehabilitation Hospital spoke highly of the university’s educational理念 and confirmed their commitment to leveraging clinical resources and practical platforms. Both sides agreed to jointly develop talent training plans, expand teaching internships, and strengthen research collaboration. Key aspects of the “2+2” program—including curriculum alignment, clinical rotation arrangements, and the implementation of a dual-mentor system—reached preliminary consensus. In addition, extensive input was gathered from frontline medical experts regarding the revision of the 2026 talent training program.

After the meeting, the delegation toured the hospital’s rehabilitation therapy halls, wards, and teaching and living facilities, gaining a comprehensive understanding of the practical training environment and discussing arrangements to support future student placements.

To further refine talent development programs, the delegation conducted additional visits from the afternoon of March 17 to the morning of March 18 to Ningbo University of Finance and Economics and Zhejiang Pharmaceutical College. They were warmly received by university leaders and representatives from academic affairs offices and relevant schools.

At Ningbo University of Finance and Economics, discussions focused on application-oriented talent development, innovation in industry-education integration, and credit system reform. The university in school-enterprise cooperation provided valuable insights. At Zhejiang Pharmaceutical College, the delegation examined approaches to medical and pharmaceutical education, particularly the integrated “medical and elderly care” training model. Both sides exchanged views on curriculum optimization, practical teaching systems, and graduate employment tracking, and reached preliminary intentions for future collaboration.

This research visit represents an important step in advancing educational reform, strengthening industry-education integration, and promoting collaboration between academia and healthcare institutions at Sias University. It also reflects the School of Medicine’s commitment to enhancing program quality and disciplinary development.

Looking ahead, Sias University will continue to uphold an open and collaborative approach, deepen partnerships with industry and peer institutions, incorporate best practices identified during this visit, and further optimize talent training models. These efforts aim to enhance the cultivation of application-oriented professionals and contribute high-quality medical talent to regional economic and social development.
